Increase opportunities for awareness and participation in activities and programmes through promotion, development and delivery of appropriate services

KRA 2: Consultation

Encourage increased participation in activities and decision-making processes of whanau, hapu, iwi through appropriate and effective consultation processes that awhi Whanaungatanga

KRA 3: “Living” cultural heritage

Encourage the preservation of Maori ‘living’ cultural heritage through recognition, conservation, retention and promotion of Maori concepts and values when delivering services to Maori

Working with social, commercial, cultural and government organisations toward developing an environment that supports the creation of opportunities

KRA 1: Entrepreneurship

Identify and pursue key relationships at local, regional and national level through the fostering of partnerships that support entrepreneurial development

Facilitating opportunities by promoting, delivering and fostering activities that encourages an empowered and knowledgeable community through commercial, social services, education and government sectors to promote creativity, innovation and achievement of aspirations

Increase provision and effectiveness of education for work through new initiatives and alignment of resources with education, training providers and the industry sector

Providing leadership in partnership with local, regional and national organisations toward achieving tino rangatiratanga of Maori tikanga, taonga, kawa and resources

Identify and pursue key partnerships with relevant stakeholders through appropriate channels and fostering of those partnerships to build trust and respect and improvements for Maori and the communities they live in

KRA 2: Advocacy

Identify and pursue key opportunities at local, regional and national level to advocate on behalf of those people living within the rohe to initiate positive changes in their every day lives

KRA 3: Communication

Identify and pursue appropriate communication channels that ensues community issues and trends relevant to the organisations core services is communicated to relevant decision-makers
